Terms

The terms, in plain words.

Last changed 2 November 2026

These are the terms for using Ratri, the app, and tryratri.app. They're written to be read. If you use Ratri, you're agreeing to them.

The app

Ratri is licensed to you, not sold, for your personal use on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard licence for App Store apps. These terms add to that licence. Where the two differ, Apple's takes precedence for anything about the App Store itself.

Not medical advice

Ratri is a guided relaxation and sleep practice rooted in yoga nidra. It isn't medical advice, and it isn't a treatment for insomnia, anxiety or any other condition. If you have trouble sleeping, or a condition that affects your sleep, talk to a doctor. Don't use Ratri while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that needs you awake and alert; it's made to put you to sleep.

Ratri Pro

Some of Ratri is free, for good. The rest is Ratri Pro, an auto-renewing subscription, yearly or monthly, bought through the App Store and billed to your Apple Account. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe, in your local currency. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps Pro until the current period ends. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless cancelled before then. Refunds are handled by Apple, under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you reinstall or change phones, Restore purchases in the app's settings brings Pro back on the same Apple Account.

Your words

What you say or type to describe an intention, and what you tell your dream journal, stays yours. You give us permission to process it as the privacy page describes, so the app can shape your intention into a line and say it in your guide's voice. Please don't record other people's private information. Lines are checked before they're voiced, and the app may decline to make one.

Our content

The sessions, scripts, voices, sounds, music and art in Ratri are ours or licensed to us. You can listen to them in the app as much as you like. You can't copy, record, extract, redistribute, sell or use them in anything else, and you can't use the guide's voice outside the app.

Using it fairly

Don't try to reverse-engineer the app, get around its locks, overload or probe its server, or use it in a way that breaks the law or these terms. If you do, we may stop you using it.

Changes to Ratri

Ratri will change over time: sessions will be added and sometimes retired, and features will come and go. We'll try not to take away anything you rely on without saying so. If we ever stop offering Ratri Pro, any subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for.

No promises

Ratri is provided as it is. We don't promise it will be available all the time, free of faults, or that it will improve your sleep. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Ratri, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Ratri in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be limited.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be here with its date. Carrying on using Ratri after that means you accept them.
